Random But Useful Taiwan Travel Tip:

If you plan on renting a scooter/motorcycle during your travels in Taiwan (or maybe in other parts of Asia I suppose), it is best to bring your OWN helmet! Or always keep a spare "travel helmet" to take along when you go on trips that involve renting a scooter.

Using the rental company's helmet means:
1. You don't know who has been using it and where it's been
2. Chances are it HASN'T been cleaned or sanitized (I know this from personal experience-had a rash on my chin from a dirty chin protector-YUCK!)
3. Guaranteed it WON'T fit! (Mine was too big and kept blowing back in the wind pulling my head back...I felt safer WITHOUT the damn thing!)
